At Sustainability LIVE London 2025, which took place earlier this week with a focus on sustainable business practices, ESG integration, supply chain sustainability and sustainable innovation, GKN Automotive attended to share its key insights as the global leader in drive systems.

Contributing to this year’s programme, GKN Automotive’s Director of Sustainability, Tom Salisbury, was invited to speak in the ‘CSO Strategy Summit’ panel discussion. The panel discussed how to connect sustainability goals with the wider business agenda, especially when balancing short term business needs with long term sustainability commitments.

Key themes included the need to collaborate and partner with different functions across the business, strategies to build credible communications, and the requirement of sustainability leads to translate external factors, such as regulation, in meaningful ways to inform business strategy.

With decision makers and senior ESG sustainability executives attending from organisations across Europe and the UK, the two-day event saw experts from a range of industries including automotive OEMs and suppliers share insights on innovations in sustainability solutions.

GKN Automotive established its sustainability framework in 2021 and recently published its third sustainability report (here), which announced a 30% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 CO2e emissions. Events like these are an opportunity for knowledge sharing and connecting with industry peers, as GKN Automotive continues to shape the automotive industry’s sustainability agenda as part of its mission to drive a cleaner, more sustainable world.
