GKN Automotive’s Future Talent Programme in Mexico has seen over 400 students graduate since its launch in 2024, as the organisation seeks to support the development of future engineering talent.

Designed to spark curiosity in science and technology among young learners, the Future Talent Programme takes a hands-on, immersive approach to education. Coordinated in collaboration with the University of Celaya, the most recent edition engaged young people in the region with a programme that consisted of multiple stages.

It began with a series of interactive challenges focusing on themes like sustainability, space and science, with more than 90 children taking part.

Following on from this, the participants were then offered a semester-long initiative providing biweekly classes in subjects such as science, engineering, health, and the humanities. Parents and guardians were also offered the opportunity to attend workshops covering topics such as entrepreneurship, personal development and family leadership, to reinforce continuous learning.

In addition to supporting the running of the programme, GKN Automotive donated tablet charging stations to ensure all participants had access to the necessary technology.

2025’s edition of the Future Talent Programme in Mexico culminated in the graduation of more than 400 children, and the ‘STEM* Fair’ closing event, where students presented experiments and projects to their peers, families, and friends.

This latest initiative is a further demonstration of GKN Automotive’s commitment to improving the accessibility and inclusivity of STEM education around the world.
