GKN Automotive hosts leading OEMs at showcase event

Last week, GKN Automotive hosted major customers for an unforgettable day at the M1 Concourse in Detroit, Michigan.

During the event, technologies from across GKN Automotive’s extensive drive systems portfolio were on display. This included the all-wheel drive systems, PTU and RDU, electronic torque management systems and sideshafts from across the range. The components displayed provided an excellent showcase of some of the latest technologies for hybrid, electric, and combustion vehicles.

Ed Kwon, Director Customer Engineering Americas commented, “This successful event demonstrates once again that GKN Automotive is not only a supplier that brings technologies to our customers, but a true partner in our customers' endeavor to bring class leading vehicles to the market.”

Guests had the chance to experience these technologies firsthand through test drives in some of the latest hybrid, electric, and combustion vehicles on the road today.

A number of senior executives also presented at the event, chairing lively discussions on some of the key areas in vehicle research and development. The list of presenters included Vice President of Engineering, Ramon Kuczera; Director of Product Technology, Mario Syhre; Vice President of Engineering, Keiwan Kashi; and Chief Engineer, Customer Engineering America, Paul Reichert.

The talks covered four major topics: ePowertrain Products, Driveline Products, Disconnect Systems in Battery Electric Vehicles and Driveshaft Downsize Through Predictive Maintenance. The presentations provided a great opportunity for GKN Automotive to share insight into advancements in its technology, reaffirming the Tier 1 supplier’s status as the global leader in drive systems.

Ramon Kuczera, Vice President Engineering Driveline, shared his thoughts on the day. “We hosted a number of our customers at such a fantastic venue with really exciting vehicles for everyone to drive. We started with technical discussions about our latest product trends, ensuring our customers understood how our technology could be best applied in their vehicles. We then carried out A to B comparisons to see exactly what is happening in the vehicle, how our technology is beneficial and how vehicles using GKN Automotive are performing better than ever before."
